About Radha Home
Radha Home (Alexis Cox) is a yoga teacher, Vedic Astrologer and a lover of mythology. She studied the three sister sciences Yoga, Ayurveda and Jyotish (Vedic Astrology) in such a way where they are used together to bring about balance, as originally intended. Ayurveda brings our bodies into balance, as does Raja/Hatha Yoga. The other yogas (Bhakti (devotion/love), Karma (selfless service), Jnana (wisdom/learning) help bring our soul to the forefront of our awareness and lose our obsession with form. Jyotish, the science of light, allows us to understand what our specific path is in this world, as well as what is unfolding at any given time, which also aids us in bringing our soul to bear. Mythology is the thread that allows us to understand deeper spiritual truths on a level that our brains cannot alone comprehend and brings us back to the Lila, the play that we are all dancing within. Radha practices in both yogic and tantric traditions and is a bhakta at heart. Through various out-of-this world experiences, as well as within the realms most people inhabit, she has been chosen as a conduit for these teachings and the Goddess herself. What she shares in her yoga classes, astrology work and storytelling is not of her, rather it comes through her. If something touches you, than please enjoy that blessing of divinity. Namaste

Education
She began her formal study of yoga in India, after 10 years of practicing in Los Angeles. One day she had an unshakeable feeling that she had to go to India. It was set already, she just went through the motions. She quit her job of 5 and 1/2 years and bought a ticket to Mumbai. She told her long-time boyfriend whom she lived with plus their 2 dogs, she "had to go to India" and alone. After the initial shock of landing, her journey began. She didn't even know what she was looking for, or where she was going for that matter, but she found that Mother India was as ready for her as she was for it! It took her in and embraced her as she learned how to get from point A to point B, slowly but surely. Somehow, she did arrive, in Rishikesh, at the foothills of the Himalayas, dubbed the "yoga capital of the world." Here, she learned in the traditional way of a teacher (guru) passing the information to a student (disciple) one to one from Swami Anandadevananda Saraswati in his tiny ashram in Lakshman Jhula. She learned asana, meditation, philosophy, chanting, and pranyama (breath control exercises). She spent every day in this world, for 10 hours of practicing and learning and meditating. She would sit by the Ganga for release and rejuvenation. It was here she was given the name Radha, the divine lover of the Beloved.
She continued her yogic studies at Bhakti Yoga Shala in Santa Monica, California, learning a more Western, vinyasa approach to teaching yoga, as well as being inducted into the beautiful world of kirtan! She is always on a quest to further her education in a mindful manner, building her blocks of knowledge carefully on the solid foundation she has built. She went back to the lineage she began for her Advanced Yoga and Ayurveda Certification at Dancing Shiva Yoga and Ayurveda with Mas Vidal. She brings the science of Ayurveda into her life as a way of approaching diet, asana, and lifestyle with balance being the ultimate goal, and carries this knowledge into her classes and private yoga instruction. A true lover of the Vedic sciences, she has taken the next step to understanding these integrative sciences the rishis, or ancient seers, left us with through the world of Vedic Astrology or Jyotish. She took level 1-3 with the American Academy of Vedic Art and Science, with Sam Geppi (Sadasiva),and has assisted him with his Levels 1 and 2 classes, as well as taught alongside him in various classes and conferences since 2018. Her own Astrology practice has taken off and she has helped hundreds of clients illumine their path. To see recent forecasts, go HERE. After a powerful encounter with the Goddess, and heart-awakening experience in New Orleans with Sean Johnson and the Wild Lotus Band, Radha found her true teaching voice came by sharing stories and thus her relationship with all that she knew came alive as she dove deep into the ancient myths of India. As she was brought more and more into the realm of the Goddess, she found herself at the feet of Mata Amritanandamayi Devi (Amma) and on the path of the Das Mahavidyas (10 Tantric Wisdom Goddesses, or faces of Kali). This led her to Laura Amazzone, a tantrika and teacher of Shakti. She continues to study with Laura to deepen her understanding of not just the Das Mahavidyas, but other forms of the goddess as well. In 2015 she went to the Ma Yoga Shakti Mission in Florida and was inducted into the Durga mantras by the head matron of the temple. She continues to be blessed by Kali/Durga and all her various forms as she moves forward on her path.
Blessings In 2016 she birthed a baby boy on the Big Island of Hawaii next to what would become the largest fissure in the 2018 lava flow, and in such became a Mother herself. She knew somewhere deep inside, especially on her travels in India that it would take nothing less than this for her to truly understand what it meant to be a woman in this world. She is blessed by his own deep path intertwined with her own as a guide and force of awakening, her little guru-ji. His name is Noa (Hawaiian for Freedom) Jai (Victory in Sanksrit) Home (Where the Heart is).
Alexis has been fortunate to have amazing teachers of all kinds in her life and considers each student in front of her to be a teacher also. Forever growing, learning and listening (sometimes, just learning to listen), she has found that however far off the path she might think she has gotten, it is always right under her, waiting to meet her outstretched foot.
She would like to humbly thank all the people who have helped her along the way, be they formal teachers or not, gurus or children, Westerners or Indians, and people she has known for a long time or people she has never met but have influenced her just the same. Especially, she honors and gives thanks to those who are walking the path ahead of her and have taken the time to stop and offer a hand or some words to help her take one more step forward: Amma, Sam Geppi (Sadashiva), Govind Das, Om Kailas, Laura Amazzone, Shyama, Guru Singh, Mark Whitwell, Mas Vidal, Sean Johnson, Swami Anandadevananda Saraswati, Shiva, Ranji-baba, and His Holiness Radhanath Swami. Thank you! It is by sincere teachers that the knowledge is passed on, and it is by sincere students that the knowledge is carried forward. May we all be blessed on our paths. May all beings everywhere be happy and free. Lokah samastah sukhino bhavantu. Hare Aum.
