![]() Venus and Saturn in Aquarius :Breaking the Rules of Love 💞 Venus and Saturn are joined in Aquarius until February 15th, and this has me musing on the commitments we make in relationships and the ways we can use our futuristic vision to create new paradigms of relating. While it is not the most intimate placement for Venus, it is the one that allows us the most openness and love within in groups, rather than just partnerships. We are being gifted the imagination and insight to change and shift what isn’t working in our current relating patterns. Aquarius is the sign of the collective and groups of people. The commitment and humility that Saturn brings both by his presence and as the ruler of the sign, helps bring the element of safety into the relational dynamic. Saturn is about boundaries; in order to be free enough to experience deep levels of intimacy in both love and friendship we also need to have structure and lines that are clearly defined. First we have to learn the rules, only then can we break free of them. Perhaps this year, we will be giving out a few extra roses on Valentine’s Day… I see there is a lot that can be learned by people who practice conscious non-monogamy on this subject. Boundaries and guidelines have to exist for everyone to feel both safe and free. The level of communication has to be radically honest and personally responsible for these kind of relationships to work. Owning one’s feelings, needs, desires and experiences is paramount. So is listening, and honoring everyone’s truth, even if it’s painful to hear. This is a beautiful opportunity to reflect upon what boundaries and rules we operate within and whether or not we created them for ourselves and how they work for us. The more we can incorporate the idea of commitment with the need we all have for freedom and movement to grow, the more we can thrive in both one-to-one relationships and group dynamics, especially ones where we are working or living in close proximity to others. If we do not have understandings and agreements as a whole we cannot thrive. Likewise, an element of connection and care with each other individual in the collective is important too. Even just one other person in any given group for whom we don’t have trust for, or is outcast, can create tension and a crack in the whole. If we are laden down with judgements, projections and stories about one another, we can never truly open up to see the person in front of us. Now is a time when we can pull together and live in loving and nurturing connection with each other, if we lift each other up instead of seeing one another as competition to limited resources. Our path to collective and individual happiness is to love and trust one another and get along.
