The Stars this Week (1/9-1/15): Deconstructing "Me"

The week begins finishing the Cancer energy in the “clinging star” Aslesha. Be mindful of not wanting to let go of what feels good. Each moment must make way for the next and when we hold too tight, we risk squeezing the life out of whatever (or whoever) it is we love. With a clear gaze from Saturn, it is fear that holds us where we are, and the appropriate realization that everything will one day come to an end. The freedom comes in letting go and trusting that those that are committed to you will continue to be there, even if not physically present.

As the night falls, the Moon moves into Leo and receives a one way gaze from Mars. We may start to feel courage. Becoming aware of when we are calmly standing in our power and when we are taking power by force or from a place of anger is an important practice. This energy will continue into Thursday morning, when we shift into the realm of Virgo. This is the place where we feel the most attached to the details and want to start organizing everything. A cross gaze from Jupiter to the Moon will help uplift us to remember the big picture and how beautiful letting go of control can be. Balancing these two energies of discernment and the wisdom of blurring the very lines we are drawing around things can get messy, but can also lighten any anxiety we feel in connecting with others and ourselves.

Saturday afternoon we roll into Libra on the star Chitra, “the brilliant.” Noticing the structures we have built and the ways in which they help us harmonize with others is the gift here. On Sunday, the Moon joins Ketu and we might feel a bit removed from our feelings, and even critical of what we see reflected there.
