![]() Saturn moves into Aquarius April 28th-July 12th Saturn is transiting into Aquarius from April 28th-July 12th, before returning to Capricorn (where he’s been since January 2020) until his official shift into Aquarius on January 17th, 2023. Saturn is the planet of Time, Consequences, Hard Work, Commitment, Suffering, Old Age, Poverty, Death and Meditation. He is known as a Moksha Karaka (indicator of final freedom) in that he frees us of our attachments in this life through humbling us. Saturn transits a sign for roughly 2.5 years, so his lessons are hard won and can make us feel like we are being pressed out as he stagnates, moves forward and then retrogrades back over the planets and houses in our chart. It is through our pain that Saturn offers us freedom. It is through the darkness that we finally see the light. Saturn is in his own two signs in Capricorn and Aquarius, offering us his intelligence in two different ways. In Capricorn, we are survival oriented, earth-bound and moving forward in a somewhat linear fashion. In Aquarius, we are in the mind and able to project future values on the now, creating different structures and systems that can get us to where we are already heading. Aquarius is the sign of society, science, technology, travel, humility and humanity. It is through Aquarius that social justice becomes an awareness. It is in this sign the we are able to step into the future and see what is possible to alleviate the lack of equality or fairness in the world. It is here that we might commit to creating a fairer world to leave to our descendants, rather than just worry about leaving our immediate offspring money and possessions to make their survival here on earth more likely. Since he is transiting his own two signs, he is the ruler of them both;) This means that there is an inherent connection in your life between these two houses/areas of your life and while the focus has been through one of them, it will shift to the other, and then back again… Retrograde Saturn begins June 4, causing us to review what we just barely began, so we can get it better when we come back next January! LOL. Whatever we think the future holds that we are committing to perhaps needs a bit more thorough investigation in how it will affect our survival and long term goals. When planets “go retrograde” they are actually just slowing down, giving us an opportunity to sit with that energy a little deeper and internalize it. Of course, Saturn is already the slowest of the visible planets and his retrograde cycles can make us feel like we are sinking into a deep tar pit as he is also the part of us that commits to something, rolls up our sleeves and then humbly does what’s before us. Can we possibly go any slower?! The answer is yes, ultimately we can make time stand still, or expand it to such great depths and heights that its confines cease to exist. The more we remain in the mundane world, the more disappointed we will be. The truth of Saturn can only be found in the deep layers of meditation, entering the Now. The future and past are actually one and the same, they are Not Now. The only moment where change can exist is this one. Go on and marinate on that for a minute;-) Saturn will end his retrograde cycle October 22, 2022 and spend the next 3 months direct in Capricorn (just in case you did NOT get the message of this transit) and then will officially move into Aquarius on January 17, 2023!
