![]() On Saturday, May 21st at 11:15 am (Hawaii Time, -10 GMT) the Moon and Sun will be directly across from one another forming the exact degrees of the Full Moon in Scorpio. Of course, since it will be broad daylight here in Hawaii and in the Western U.S., Friday night will be the best time for soaking in the Moon's healing rays. This Moon is taking place in the emotional waters of Scorpio with both the ruling planet, Mars, and Saturn Retrograde so we are in for a wild ride. Mars will actually be in Exact Degrees with this Full Moon, so buckle up! This will bring potential for some serious combustion here as our Emotional Inner Self feels in danger around Mars. Mars agitates, while the Moon tries to soothe. Mars breeds Disconnect while the Moon tries desperately to Connect. Scorpio is also considered to be the placement for the Moon that is the hardest; it is where we are most dramatic, sensitive, and controlling of others due to our own deep fears. When the Moon is Full we experience our Minds, our Psyche, at it's most Full also. Get ready for the Space Mountain of emotional roller coasters...vivid and technicolor, but with potent passion, fear and anger looming large, cloaked in the darkness. We are fortunate that this Full Moon is happening in the specific star cluster, or nakshatra, Anuradha (“before Radha”) an ultra-devotional star that brings us to our knees in love for that which is greater than ourselves. Radha is the Lover of Krishna (the all-attractive avatar of Vishnu) and his most devoted follower, an aspect of his own Self. Anuradha shows us that love can bring us out of the mud and muck of daily dalliance and grow us to our highest potential like a lotus flower. It is ruled over by Mitra, the god who is our Great Friend, who holds us in high regard no matter what we may be going through. If we are able to find a prayer within, we can alter our state of consciousness to one in tune with the Divine Flow, instead of one that is at odds with it. If we do not have a connection to anything higher than ourselves, we may find our devotion misdirected at the object of our affection here on earth instead, and trying to control them. There is certainly an alluring sexual passion running through this cosmic alignment that can be used to raise us up, or drag us down! This is the magic of this Moon...it may feel like an uncomfortable and somewhat painful journey through the heart space, but we have the power to direct the flow with the alchemical container of our awareness. Where we direct our attention, energy flows...a simple law of the universe that can change our entire perspective, and thus our entire world. Picture yourself rising up out of the fray and embracing your highest self and imagine others as their highest self also, and you will soar to new heights of Love. Mars, as aforementioned is the ruler of Scorpio and brings a fiery edge to this otherwise watery constellation. He governs our Passions, Actions, Discipline and when out of balance, our Anger. He has been joined Saturn, the planet of our Fears, Commitment and Willingness to Work Hard for months now and we have been feeling the explosive nature of these two notorious malefics coming together in the sign of our Deepest Fears. However, for the last month both have been in their Retrograde motion, causing us to feel deep beneath the surface the powerful pull of their energy. Retrograde planets cause us to focus on their respective energy within ourselves, yet halted in the manifestation of that energy outward. Saturn is significantly farther away from this Full Moon, but as she continues through Scorpio the rest of the weekend, she will move into exact degrees with Saturn on Sunday around the same time as the Full Moon is on Saturday. Expect Fear then to suddenly reign over Anger in your emotional space and psychology. This month has been a doozy with 4 planets Retrograde and these two are going to be the last to move forward again, leaving us with this pressure tank beneath the surface until mid and late summer. Jupiter went direct again on May 9th, right after the New Moon, so we have been experiencing some forward motion with regard to our Beliefs, our Luck, and our ability to be Expansive beings on a Righteous path. The conjunction with the North Node Rahu, however, adds an element of confusion and delusion that may be hiding some of our blessings and contorting that which we share out into the world. Mercury is about to begin his direct motion on the 22nd, giving us back our powers of communication, both verbal and electronic. This is relief for many people who need these powers to operate in the world and in their professional life, but while this planet of our Communication and Discerning Intellect (or Buddhi) is still in Aries, we need to be careful with our tongue. You can apologize for what you say, but you cannot take it back. We are lucky that during our explosive Full Moon energy, this planet will still be Retrograde! Finally, the Sun and Venus have entered sidereal Taurus this past week and (other than on this Full Moon!) we are enjoying a little less Fire and a bit more Earth in our lives. The Full Moon acts as a balancing point between New Moon's, offering the opposite experience of what we may be “getting used to”. This one is calling out our desire to relax into comfort and peace by riling us up with Scorpio's turbulent energy. While our Soul Power (the Sun) indeed can get a bit muffled while chewing on grass and finding a comfortable spot to lay, it is perhaps a rest we all could use after having all those planets in Aries for a few agitated weeks! Venus is quite happy in her own sign of the Bull, and is busy finding ways to fulfill her desires that are peaceful, harmonious with others, and sensory-driven. Maybe we find ourselves enjoying our bed a little longer in the morning, eating just a bit more at meals and taking the time to lavish in the artistry of the physical world around us...it's ok, we deserve it, especially after this weekend:-) You may have to keep reminding yourself of that, as the direct gaze of both Saturn and Mars across the way will continue past this Full Moon and create some anxiety and pressure that we should be doing more. Definitely be aware to not discipline or create fear for anyone else, while you lay back in your hammock..especially when Mercury goes direct! Chances are if it's your romantic partner, you'll really want them to join you instead, so go with that;-) Blessings for your Full Moon!
