Mercury Retrograde in Taurus

Mercury is Retrograde from May 10th, 2022- June 2-3rd in sidereal Taurus. In Taurus, our communication is usually grounded and connective. The social nature of Mercury is well-influenced by Taurus, ruled by Venus, where we are focused on relationships, pleasure and creating harmony. When benefic planets are in good dignity (intelligence) their direct motion manifests results that feel positive in the world around us. When that planet is Retrograde, results are delayed or inverted and despite the intelligence that is running, we don’t experience the same positive trajectory from them. This is the case here, as Mercury is asking of us to stop, listen and review our information before disseminating it out into the world. When we accept this as a state we cannot change, we are able to make great use of this time; editing past writings or songs, connecting with old friends/lovers, re-reading a favorite book or article and LISTENING to our partners, friends, children and co-workers! When we are trying to push forward our agenda anyway, we will experience delays, mishaps, miscommunication, and lost information or messages. The fact that we are so reliant on technology is a big reason why Mercury Retrograde is called out to blame for all challenges, by even those uninterested in Astrology. Ultimately, it is only a few weeks and not nearly as big of an affect on our lives as Saturn or Jupiter Retrograde for months at a time. So relax, reread that book or catch up with your old flame/friend and remember to open up your ears and LISTEN instead of speaking all the time…maybe you will learn something!
