Full Moon in Anuradha: Crazy, Devotional Love

5/19/2016

Picture
On Saturday, May 21st at 11:15 am (Hawaii Time, -10 GMT) the Moon and Sun will be directly across from one another forming the exact degrees of the Full Moon in Scorpio. Of course, since it will be broad daylight here in Hawaii and in the Western U.S., Friday night will be the best time for soaking in the Moon's healing rays. This Moon is taking place in the emotional waters of Scorpio with both the ruling planet, Mars, and Saturn Retrograde so we are in for a wild ride. Mars will actually be in Exact Degrees with this Full Moon, so buckle up! This will bring potential for some serious combustion here as our Emotional Inner Self feels in danger around Mars. Mars agitates, while the Moon tries to soothe. Mars breeds Disconnect while the Moon tries desperately to Connect. Scorpio is also considered to be the placement for the Moon that is the hardest; it is where we are most dramatic, sensitive, and controlling of others due to our own deep fears. When the Moon is Full we experience our Minds, our Psyche, at it's most Full also. Get ready for the Space Mountain of emotional roller coasters...vivid and technicolor, but with potent passion, fear and anger looming large, cloaked in the darkness.

We are fortunate that this Full Moon is happening in the specific star cluster, or nakshatra, Anuradha (“before Radha”) an ultra-devotional star that brings us to our knees in love for that which is greater than ourselves. Radha is the Lover of Krishna (the all-attractive avatar of Vishnu) and his most devoted follower, an aspect of his own Self. Anuradha shows us that love can bring us out of the mud and muck of daily dalliance and grow us to our highest potential like a lotus flower. It is ruled over by Mitra, the god who is our Great Friend, who holds us in high regard no matter what we may be going through. If we are able to find a prayer within, we can alter our state of consciousness to one in tune with the Divine Flow, instead of one that is at odds with it. If we do not have a connection to anything higher than ourselves, we may find our devotion misdirected at the object of our affection here on earth instead, and trying to control them. There is certainly an alluring sexual passion running through this cosmic alignment that can be used to raise us up, or drag us down! This is the magic of this Moon...it may feel like an uncomfortable and somewhat painful journey through the heart space, but we have the power to direct the flow with the alchemical container of our awareness. Where we direct our attention, energy flows...a simple law of the universe that can change our entire perspective, and thus our entire world. Picture yourself rising up out of the fray and embracing your highest self and imagine others as their highest self also, and you will soar to new heights of Love.

Mars, as aforementioned is the ruler of Scorpio and brings a fiery edge to this otherwise watery constellation. He governs our Passions, Actions, Discipline and when out of balance, our Anger. He has been joined Saturn, the planet of our Fears, Commitment and Willingness to Work Hard for months now and we have been feeling the explosive nature of these two notorious malefics coming together in the sign of our Deepest Fears. However, for the last month both have been in their Retrograde motion, causing us to feel deep beneath the surface the powerful pull of their energy. Retrograde planets cause us to focus on their respective energy within ourselves, yet halted in the manifestation of that energy outward. Saturn is significantly farther away from this Full Moon, but as she continues through Scorpio the rest of the weekend, she will move into exact degrees with Saturn on Sunday around the same time as the Full Moon is on Saturday. Expect Fear then to suddenly reign over Anger in your emotional space and psychology. This month has been a doozy with 4 planets Retrograde and these two are going to be the last to move forward again, leaving us with this pressure tank beneath the surface until mid and late summer.

Jupiter went direct again on May 9th, right after the New Moon, so we have been experiencing some forward motion with regard to our Beliefs, our Luck, and our ability to be Expansive beings on a Righteous path. The conjunction with the North Node Rahu, however, adds an element of confusion and delusion that may be hiding some of our blessings and contorting that which we share out into the world. Mercury is about to begin his direct motion on the 22nd, giving us back our powers of communication, both verbal and electronic. This is relief for many people who need these powers to operate in the world and in their professional life, but while this planet of our Communication and Discerning Intellect (or Buddhi) is still in Aries, we need to be careful with our tongue. You can apologize for what you say, but you cannot take it back. We are lucky that during our explosive Full Moon energy, this planet will still be Retrograde!

Finally, the Sun and Venus have entered sidereal Taurus this past week and (other than on this Full Moon!) we are enjoying a little less Fire and a bit more Earth in our lives. The Full Moon acts as a balancing point between New Moon's, offering the opposite experience of what we may be “getting used to”. This one is calling out our desire to relax into comfort and peace by riling us up with Scorpio's turbulent energy. While our Soul Power (the Sun) indeed can get a bit muffled while chewing on grass and finding a comfortable spot to lay, it is perhaps a rest we all could use after having all those planets in Aries for a few agitated weeks! Venus is quite happy in her own sign of the Bull, and is busy finding ways to fulfill her desires that are peaceful, harmonious with others, and sensory-driven. Maybe we find ourselves enjoying our bed a little longer in the morning, eating just a bit more at meals and taking the time to lavish in the artistry of the physical world around us...it's ok, we deserve it, especially after this weekend:-) You may have to keep reminding yourself of that, as the direct gaze of both Saturn and Mars across the way will continue past this Full Moon and create some anxiety and pressure that we should be doing more. Definitely be aware to not discipline or create fear for anyone else, while you lay back in your hammock..especially when Mercury goes direct! Chances are if it's your romantic partner, you'll really want them to join you instead, so go with that;-) Blessings for your Full Moon! Hare Ohm

New Moon in Bharani: Creative Passion & A Potent New Birth of You

5/5/2016

Picture
The Moon and Sun will come together at 22 degrees 37 seconds in the sign of Aries on Friday morning, May 6th at 9:30 am Hawaii Time (-10 GMT) in the asterism represented by the yoni, the female sex organ. Creativity and Life are birthed through this canal in the sky, which is ruled over by both Venus, the ultra-feminine planet of Desire and Love, and Mars, the fiery masculine planet of both Passion and Discipline. Bharani means “To Bear” and is also referred to as “the star of restraint”. The animal symbol of this star is the elephant, demonstrating our wild, passionate nature as well as our strong ability to bear the heavy burdens of our life. We literally bear our creative life into existence and must carry heavy responsibility in order to manifest what we truly love. After the sexual passion that creates life in her womb, a woman must then bear a child for 9 months before it can be thrust out that same canal the seed entered. Even afterwards, she (and likely he whose seed it was) will have many years of caring for and nurturing that precious life into self-sufficiency. They will never lose the attachment to the child, because their love for what they have created is that grand. We must make sure that what we are planting and nurturing is worth it. If it is not like a child to us, then we must show Marsian discipline and learn to restrain ourselves from becoming caught up in our desires to the point where they will take over our life and lead us away from our life's true love. The elephant also represents our high spiritual potential, a blessing offered by this star. Bharani is presided over by Yama, the god of Death who teaches us about sacrifice; in order to create our deepest truth, we must allow anything that is not that to die. Yama is where we experience our karma, the result of our actions and are bound to it. He also takes us through the doorway of death and into the new life that awaits on the other side. Excessive sexuality sent out in a myriad of directions can waste the vital energy that we need to create our most precious gifts to the world. Here we learn how to have both passion and respect for our bodies and their creative potential, honoring the sacred union of masculine and feminine that occurs within each of us and containing that vitality so that we may channel it into our deepest truths.

We have 4 planets in Aries on this New Moon; the Sun, Venus, Mercury and the Moon, showing this incredible fiery passion and zeal to begin anew. In Aries, we are fueled by strong self-interest and motivated to act on what we are connecting to in that moment. If we use this energy wisely (see above:) we will be able to create exactly the rebirth we need in our lives! We are not, however, always careful or respectful of others and their needs, and we can and often do, fly off the handle at anyone or anything that gets in the way of our forward trajectory. The Sun is exalted here (although well past the point of exaltation) meaning that we are in our highest resonance with our Soul Power when the Sun is in Aries. This can help us to walk a more noble path, aligned with our Higher Self. Venus in Aries can create a lot of selfish desire and makes us not as interested in balancing the needs of others with our own as we may usually be. Mercury is Retrograde in Aries, which may actually help us hold our tongue from biting off anyone's head with our words. If nothing else, the aggressive email you wanted to send out may not get there due to the common issues with communication devices that Mercury Retrograde is famous for. Careful of what information you take in right now, however, it may be misinformed and incite unnecessary anger.

The ruler of Aries, Mars, is also Retrograde at the moment, joined an also Retrograde Saturn, so we may feel some hesitation on our forward motion that is likely to burble up in the form of frustration; small but angry indications that something is being repressed beneath the surface. As planets are experienced as Moving Backwards from our perspective here on Earth, we find ourselves highly focused on the energy of the Retrograde planet, yet unable to manifest its qualities outward into the world. This coupled with the fact that the backward motion makes us literally run over old ground, can be incredibly frustrating and cause us great annoyance with ourselves, that we take out on the unlucky people that have to be around us. When everyone's frustrated, well...we're all fairly annoying. The purpose this motion plays in our lives, is to slow us down, cause us to reflect on what it is we are Doing (Mars), Saying (Mercury), Believing (Jupiter), Committing to and Scared of (Saturn). I've been saying it, and I'll say it again...Now is a good time to get off of your computer, iPad, phone, TV (actually, just get rid of your TV;-) and deal with your anger and frustration. Breathe, meditate, go to the beach, climb a mountain, connect with your Self...anything other than getting more riled up by all the information or misinformation being spewed carelessly into your energy field. Protect yourself. Restrain yourself. Unplug yourself. A talking fast can also be useful, although if not possible, maybe just speak less words. Try to keep quiet, especially around those you love. Shut. up.

One of our many Retrograde planets is about to move forward again! Jupiter, our planet of Beliefs and Ideals, who has been Retrograde since January 7th is finally coming out of hiding on May 9th We have been running over the same old ground with our Teachers and Teachings for months now, questioning everything we know and believe and its had a frenzied feeling to it since Jupiter is joined Rahu, the north node of the Moon. Rahu magnifies things and creates a delusionary field around whatever its connected to, giving us an even bigger reflection of what we do or do not think is Right and Just in this world. We may have begun this process, and this year, seeking out many different teachings and new teachers, and then found ourselves slowly dismissing them, feeling disenchanted and disconnected to anything that isn't really true for us. Before a planet goes Retrograde, or Direct again, it is Stationary, literally stalled, stuck, not moving at all. This can feel like being in mud for a day or few until it picks us speed again, so don't expect immediate forward motion! Rahu will still be joined Jupiter in Leo, the sign of Governments, Authority and Leadership, so look out for wanting to suddenly begin teaching, or preaching, everything you have been sitting on in an obsessive, ungrounded manner...Try to use some of that restraint this New Moon is teaching us about and save your most precious resources to bring forth the real gold out of that Cosmic Yoni of yours.
