Solar Eclipse in Bharani: Control Your Flares & Akshaya Tritiya

4/29/2022

Our New moon this month is April 30th at 10:28 am HT and brings us into the first eclipse of the new Aries/Libra axis and while the Sun will only partially be eclipsed, it will certainly be felt that our great source of Power and Light is being reset. The Sun joins the Moon in a New Moon, essentially eclipsing our Mind every month, and in an eclipse cycle, it too is “eaten”. Rahu, the north node (eclipse point) is the one devouring our luminary this time with his open mouth that runs us through experiences obsessively but has no body to digest or assimilate what he’s done. This is “New Karma” opening and will affect whatever area of life Aries is in your sidereal chart. (If you want to know specifically for you, sign up for my newsletter in the top right corner and receive your FREE report on "Rahu in Aries, Ketu in Libra for all 12 Signs")

Three lunar phases into this New moon in Aries, cycle is what is called Akshaya Tritya, the most blessed day (really 2 days) of the year. It is when we have an exalted Sun and exalted Moon (as it transits to Taurus right after Aries) and this year we also have exalted Venus, and Jupiter and Saturn in their own signs. Mercury is also in quite good dignity in Taurus. This day is said to be a good one for bringing forth abundance by investing in something that you would like to multiply many times.

Bharani means “to bear” and is the nakshatra of both birth and death, as it is represented by a yoni, the female organ through which life emerges and is Yama the god of death. Here is a place where we need to be very careful about what we are creating and make sure it is in our highest alignment. If we are not discerning and disciplined with our creative and sexual energies, we can create chaos instead of art or wind up with something that we are not prepared to bring forth (like an unwanted pregnancy). Every “No” gives way for a true “Yes”. Only by self-control can we be truly free, otherwise we are just riding whatever the tides bring us. In the sign of Aries, where we are concerned mostly with ourself and starting something new, and the delusional energy of the eclipse, we must be particularly careful. It is interesting that this New Moon/Eclipse falls right before the pagan holiday of Beltane, where fertility and creativity abound. It is said that by dancing around the May pole one can increase their fertility. Best to make sure that is what you and whoever else is involved really wants, and that you have the resources and energy to care for whatever it is you become pregnant with. Again, knowing the house this is happening in for you is absolutely key to understanding how this will manifest in your life. Aries is also the sign of war, discipline, black/white thinking, courage and anger. The Sun, our Consciousness, leadership and Authority (also the Government) is exalted here but with the nodal confusion exacerbating what we think we know and have to do, we can expect some act first, think later kind of events to take place.

Mercury has finally broken free of our months’ entanglement in a Kala Sarpa (Time Snake) Yoga by moving into Taurus, giving us a grounded sense of discernment to help navigate these confusing times. Now is a time to trust the information you gather, however slowly and allow your communication to take on a plodding pace. This placement is also great for connective and considerate conversations, so in the midst of all the chaotic feelings of planetary shifts and eclipses we can at least communicate effectively and kindly.

Venus has also moved into sidereal Pisces, joining Jupiter. Jupiter is in his own sign here (to learn more about this alignment, including Jupiter's transit in Pisces for all 12 Rising Signs, scroll to the top right corner and sign up for my newsletter! ) Venus is exalted in Pisces, in her best dignity, so both of these planetary energies are highly intelligent here. This means our Relational Self is in a position where we are more apt to raise our love vibration up to that of God(dess)/Love/Energy and move beyond the normal exchange that sometimes brings us harmony in our relationships. Here we feel happy and in love with all of life, without needing a specific return on our investment in a specific person.

The last planet to change signs this past week, is Saturn is moving into Aquarius on April 28th, where he’ll be until July 15th. He has been stationed for the last two years since January 2020 in his own sign of Capricorn, helping us accept the inevitability of death and the sobering truths that help us detach from the material world. While Aquarius is Saturn’s other sign, it has slightly more movement, and therefore hope, available. We are committed to a vision for the future and to what needs to be done to create fairer structures in society. Saturn moves into Aquarius April 28th-July 12th

Saturn is transiting into Aquarius from April 28th-July 12th, before returning to Capricorn (where he’s been since January 2020) until his official shift into Aquarius on January 17th, 2023. Saturn is the planet of Time, Consequences, Hard Work, Commitment, Suffering, Old Age, Poverty, Death and Meditation. He is known as a Moksha Karaka (indicator of final freedom) in that he frees us of our attachments in this life through humbling us. Saturn transits a sign for roughly 2.5 years, so his lessons are hard won and can make us feel like we are being pressed out as he stagnates, moves forward and then retrogrades back over the planets and houses in our chart. It is through our pain that Saturn offers us freedom. It is through the darkness that we finally see the light.

Saturn is in his own two signs in Capricorn and Aquarius, offering us his intelligence in two different ways. In Capricorn, we are survival oriented, earth-bound and moving forward in a somewhat linear fashion. In Aquarius, we are in the mind and able to project future values on the now, creating different structures and systems that can get us to where we are already heading. Aquarius is the sign of society, science, technology, travel, humility and humanity. It is through Aquarius that social justice becomes an awareness. It is in this sign the we are able to step into the future and see what is possible to alleviate the lack of equality or fairness in the world. It is here that we might commit to creating a fairer world to leave to our descendants, rather than just worry about leaving our immediate offspring money and possessions to make their survival here on earth more likely.

Since he is transiting his own two signs, he is the ruler of them both;) This means that there is an inherent connection in your life between these two houses/areas of your life and while the focus has been through one of them, it will shift to the other, and then back again…

Retrograde Saturn begins June 4, causing us to review what we just barely began, so we can get it better when we come back next January! LOL. Whatever we think the future holds that we are committing to perhaps needs a bit more thorough investigation in how it will affect our survival and long term goals. When planets “go retrograde” they are actually just slowing down, giving us an opportunity to sit with that energy a little deeper and internalize it. Of course, Saturn is already the slowest of the visible planets and his retrograde cycles can make us feel like we are sinking into a deep tar pit as he is also the part of us that commits to something, rolls up our sleeves and then humbly does what’s before us. Can we possibly go any slower?! The answer is yes, ultimately we can make time stand still, or expand it to such great depths and heights that its confines cease to exist. The more we remain in the mundane world, the more disappointed we will be. The truth of Saturn can only be found in the deep layers of meditation, entering the Now. The future and past are actually one and the same, they are Not Now. The only moment where change can exist is this one. Go on and marinate on that for a minute;-)

Saturn will end his retrograde cycle October 22, 2022 and spend the next 3 months direct in Capricorn (just in case you did NOT get the message of this transit) and then will officially move into Aquarius on January 17, 2023!

Full Moon in Chitra: Use your Illusion

4/15/2022

The Sun and Moon will be directly across from each other April 16, at 8:55 am Hawaii Time (11:55 am PDT) for a Full Moon in Libra in the star of Chitra. Chitra is ruled by Tvasthar, the god of creative intelligence. He is manifested as either Vishvakarma, the creator of the beings of light, the “devas”, or Maya, the creator for those without light, “the asuras”. As such, this star can open our power to create incredibly beautiful structures and systems that are either bringing us closer to our divine light and truth, or that are instead miring us deeper into the illusion of separation and our ego nature. Chitra is symbolized by a gem, like a diamond, that is cut to show off its brilliance. The fact that it is not a raw stone, rather one that has been worked by an intelligent and skilled artist is an important aspect of this symbol, as it is not about raw beauty and intelligence in Chitra but all that has gone into us becoming this way. Bridging Virgo and Libra, Chitra shows us how the attention to detail and physical work in Virgo can lead into the refined, harmonious, and beautiful in Libra. Libra is about relationships, the inter-workings between people and anything we build must accommodate and support us in these relationships, or else it will become nothing more than something pretty to look at. As the South Node, Ketu has moved into Libra in March, this Full Moon is an important first highlight of an area of life we may be increasingly pulling away from over the next year and half. The total lunar eclipse will be next month, two weeks after the New Moon/partial Solar eclipse in Aries that is setting off this new eclipse cycle. Much of the theme in this period will be around Self and Others. How much do we compromise for others and how much do we do what we want without a lot of regard for how it affects those around us? With the Sun just moved into his exalted place in Aries, we have an opportunity to stand strong in our power while also understanding that sometimes it is appropriate to bend a little to meet someone else along the way. With Jupiter also fresh in his own sign of Pisces as of a few days ago, and Saturn gearing to move into Aquarius for a 2.5 month stint, we have quite a bit of movement and as a result, instability as of late! This is especially profound as Jupiter, Saturn and the Nodes are the 3 longest transits and move signs only 1-3 years!
