 This week we move through all the elements, beginning with the first steps after the New Moon. Our luminaries still joined in Aquarius and the sometimes painful separation as our minds wobble forward out of the darkness into the illusion of all that is, maya. With the Moon moving past the Sun and out of Saturn’s range, we may start to feel lighter and find an awakening within ourselves as she enters Purva Bhadrapada nakshatra later in the day. This is the star where we are struck by the awareness that we are beyond this form and these mundane lives, giving us an opportunity to integrate what we touched in the dark. Ruled by Varuna, god of the cosmic waters and the night sky, the dark sun which dips beneath the ocean at night. His name itself means “all enveloping sky”. It is called the star of “a hundred healers,” indicating its capacity to bring healing on a physical, spiritual and social level. It is said that an illness contracted under this star will require a hundred healers to cure it, but a cure found under the same will work the magic of hundred healers. It is also the hundreds of stars in the night sky which see the underbelly of society, the corruption and greed of men, and seeks to rectify the inequality in our world. Saturn is near our Sun & Moon in Aquarius, offering us the practical humility and capacity to commit to our vision. In the month of Phalguna (Feb/March), we have the “Great Night of Shiva” where it is said the position of the Earth on its axis is just so that sitting with our spines erect allows our crown to have the most seamless connection to the cosmos. The weekend brings you to evaluate your values and maybe see how they do or do not bring you closer to your highest vision in this world. Libra For you this week is beginning with experiencing your career and status through the lens of the bigger picture and groups of people. Relationships have been transforming you since August of 2022 and now you are really seeing how it is through individual relations that you establish your place in any one group. You of course, as a Libra know this already, but its important that the connections are vulnerable and linked to what you truly love. Your masks must be removed if you want people to like you for who you really are. Midweek, you might feel a lot of disappointment, especially around your career and the weekend will bring you back into the spotlight, but you won’t be able to avoid piercing to the heart of your feelings about being seen. Scorpio This week starts off with the emphasis on how you make a living and the luck associated with that. With your ruling planet giving a gaze from your 7th house, it is through your one-to-one relations and your willingness to do the due diligence that this so called luck occurs. With the ruler of partners, Venus, joined Saturn in your 4th you are likely trying really really hard to establish peace. How is that working? Mid-week, brings you into community and the weekend into a sea of escape, particularly avoiding what it is aobut relationships that feels so disappointing. Sagittarius For you the week begins with a focus on truth, your beliefs and how you can transform by really embodying your higher wisdom. You may feel how much it is through your willful nature that you feel challenged by society and transform that into seva, selfless service. Mid-week you are focused on your career and how by truly loving unconditionally, a radical idea for you, you can actually transform your public image too. The weekend brings you out and about in the world, facing some fears, and not fully enjoying it. Capricorn This week begins with you having to face your fears, particularly around leadership and power in your relationships. On Tuesday, Mercury moves in to join the Sun in your 1st house, bringing service (and hard work) and higher wisdom to your identity. This will help you transmute your fears into something greater than yourself. Wednesday this service and wisdom will help you bond with your partner or other significant relationships. The weekend will bring you to experience your partner (or other relationship) via their status and capacity to show up for responsibility. Be mindful of being critical! Aquarius The week begins with you seeing your relationships through the lens of hard work, particularly the power dynamic. As you have newly stepped into your own identity, and your ruler of relationships, the Sun, is still in the 7th causing some feelings of disappointment in this regard, this can ruffle some feathers, but Venus’ presence will help smooth them by staying in touch with both your feelings and your higher wisdom. Mid-week, you may have to transform and face some fears to avoid inimical energy and the weekend will bring you to the truth, but it may cut a little. Pisces The week starts off with you having to do the hard work for what you love. Tuesday, your home and relationships will enter the 11th house of community, so expect to have things get more social for a few weeks. Wednesday the Moon moves into your 7th house and you will find what you love through your partner. The weekend brings you through some events out of your control, allowing you to transform. This is the “clinging star”, the place in the sky where we must learn to let go of whatever we have been nurturing that we are still clinging to. Just like a mother has trouble releasing her child into the world after raising it, we are being asked to look at the ways in which we are trying to control what we love, and in the process coiling ourselves around it so tight that it may suffocate the life from it. The deity of Aslesha is the Naga, the serpent kingdom that is our subconscious fears and desires. It is this realm that holds up our everyday reality and how we imagine it to be (which dictates what we do, say, think and feel). There is poison when we go deep, and if we go even deeper and transmute that poison, there is immortal bliss, amrita to be discovered.
Jupiter is giving a one-way dristhi (energetic gaze) to this Full Moon from his own sign of Pisces, offering us the deep and watery wisdom from another serpentine star, Uttara Bhadrapada. This star is ruled by the Serpent of the Deep, Ahir Budhnya, and is again asking us to travel down to what holds us. This is a universal and cosmic placement, where we see the collective subconscious and how it keeps us locked in shared beliefs that create the reality we all agree upon. How does our individual willingness to see, feel and share our truest feelings fit into the world we are interwoven into? Can we witness one another and the whole and release judgement to access healing? Can we erase all the lines around what we believe to find shared values and beliefs that include all of us and our deepest most intimate truths? Cancer deals in the emotions, and across from our Sun in Capricorn (and our New Moon cycle that we are at the apex of) we are now seeing the reflection of how hard we work to get to a goal post, or to survive, and what we sweep by the wayside in the process. Our feelings. The feelings of the others we come into contact with in our agenda-driven world. The ends do not often justify the means. It is important that we stop and allow ourselves to feel moment-to-moment and offer this space to others too. Otherwise we are not ensuring that we or anyone else is a full “yes” to what we put our time and energy into. We are not creating the intimacy that truly bonds us to one another. This is an important aspect to look at when we think of the humility and commitment that Saturn brings us through in his signs of Capricorn and Aquarius. Much of it is founded in fear. Fear that we will run out of time. In fact, we are running out of time. It is the only thing we can be sure of. These bodies will not make it. If we spend all our time surviving when it is the only thing we can be sure we will not ultimately do, what do have to show for ourselves? Surely there is a better way. We must accomplish things, and we must make sure that we are taking care of one another and ourselves along the way.. And how can we be sure we are doing that if we do not know how we feel? Giving ourselves or someone else what we think they need is not necessarily helpful or loving. Asking them may also be ineffective, as many of us have no idea what we truly need because we’ve been programmed to look for outside answers to that. Checking in with how we feel is the only true gauge of where we are at. If we don’t mostly feel happy, relaxed, and comfortable with what we are doing or who we are doing it with, it is a strong indicator that something needs to shift. With Saturn's recent move into Aquarius, it is time we look at the little people and see what each of us has to offer the collective, instead of relying on those in power or who have collected the most money to tell us what skills and knowledge we have to share. It is time to re-imagine the future in a way that meets the needs of all, rather than just a few. Venus’ transit here is helping us do that one relationship at a time.
